The importance of an earth connection cannot be overstated in any electrical installation, as safety and functionality are paramount. Additionally, with many expatriates bringing in high-end electronics, grounding helps protect these sensitive devices from damage caused by electrical fluctuations. 50% of houses older than 1985 have deteriorated connections
40% of houses older than 1975 have NO earth
33% of houses less than 20 years old do not have unacceptable readings

The main problem I find is it is impossible for the end user to know without specialist test equipment. So until a problem arises they are none the wiser.

It takes no time for us to ascertain the impedance of the earth and we normally couple this with a test and inspection. My advice is every five years minimum.
