It is inevitable that at some point we will all notice that a wooden window or door is starting to deteriorate due to rot or termite damage.

So, the question is do I need to have the item completely replaced or would it be cost effective to have it repaired?  This will depend on the extent of the damage and whether it is worthwhile repairing compared to the price of a replacement.

• Window Frames – bottom sills can be replaced
• Door Frame – door frame uprights can be renewed or a piece of new timber spliced into the bottom
• Door Panels – these often split due to sun damage and can be replaced with a new wooden panel or changed to glass.
• Doors – after damage caused by a forced entry sometimes it is possible to repair
• Louvre Shutter Frames – these can often be repaired
• Ceiling Beams – often the decorative ends are rotten due to water and sun damage and replacements can be spliced in
• Car Ports – can be repaired by partly replacing certain timbers

Advantages to having a repair

• You can save money when repairing compared to replacing.
• Minimal disruption.
• Less risk of damage to stucco, tilework etc
• Repairing wood has a positive impact on the environment.
